The Travelling Assembly
Towards a permanent Peoples' Assembly for Europe
What of Athens? What next?
Which conversations did Athens bring about the most? What was discussed as an Assembly and what does this tell us about this collective journey? We ask you to reflect on the Full Report (External link) from the DO first Assembly meeting in Athens, particularly to ask you what you think we should collectively continue to discuss ahead of our next Florence meeting!
You can add a comment to this debate and interact with other Assembly Members, as well as members of the general public!

By far the biggest questions in my head during and after the meeting in Athens has been 'How is this meeting, this Democratic Odyssey, going to change anything? How will any of this be put into practice?' In all honesty, I'm still a bit skeptic about those. Because even if some of these insights get forwarded to any members of European Parliament, there's still a long way to go to get the info to national level.
Nevertheless, I dare to cautiously hope that some of these and future discussions, insights, and networks will prove to be beneficial on European and national levels. The world is in a constant transition and it strongly looks like the ways we've been dealing with recent crises (COVID, economic issues, Russia's invasion in Ukraine, global warming etc.) are not really working that well. We need something to change. Maybe this Democratic Odyssey can be a part of that change? My hopes and expectations for the next meetings are still alive.
