Tensions? (Florence spirit)

Members seem to agree that making governance and policymaking processes fully transparent is the fundamental ground for democratic engagement. But some feared that too much transparency may overwhelm citizens with information or expose sensitive strategies. The complexity of issues like climate change, health crises, and economic inequality may make full transparency impractical. Maybe they should only be involved in what they know best? But others say: everyone can learn and you don’t know in advance what you don’t know. Ultimately the most challenging and terrible issue of all is war. Some still believe it should be left to generals and polticians but others that it is us the citizens that will put our life on the line and should therefore have a major say.
